Hair oil workshop 1:15PM - 2:00PM

Workshop Description

The objective of this workshop is to cater to the Black student youth experience and focus on STEM concepts regarding the unique qualities of Black hair. Students will learn about evolutionary traits that are favourable according to the environment, as well as key scientific principles such as polar vs non-polar substances. Students will carry out a lab-based 1-hour workshop in which they use chemistry principles to create their own hair oil and learn to keep their hair healthy and hydrated.
